IMD: Cyclone Montha May Hit East Coast With 110 kmph Winds

A separate depression in the Arabian Sea is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
Cyclone Montha expected to intensify rapidly
Cyclone Montha is rapidly intensifying over the Bay of Bengal and is expected to become a severe cyclonic storm by October 28, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD forecasts that the cyclone will make landfall near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday evening or night, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall across the eastern coast.
