The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for several states in southern India, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, through the Diwali week. In contrast, northern and northwestern states are expected to remain largely dry with cooler, pleasant weather.
