Cyclone Montha made landfall near Kakinada on Tuesday night, bringing wind speeds of 90–100 km/h with gusts up to 110 km/h. The Andhra Pradesh government had placed all coastal districts on high alert, deploying NDRF and SDRF teams. Odisha and northern Tamil Nadu are bracing for heavy rainfall under orange and yellow alerts.
