Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir is now a snowy paradise, attracting tourists with its fresh blanket of snow.
The India Meteorological Department forecasts continued wet weather and snowfall in higher-altitude areas of the Union Territory, with temperatures ranging from -2°C to 10°C.
Due to snowfall, the Srinagar–Leh Highway and Mughal Road are temporarily closed; commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary nighttime travel.
Gulmarg covered in snow, attracts many tourists
Gulmarg has transformed into a breathtaking snowy wonderland as the first snowflakes of winter have graced Kashmir. This picturesque hill station, also known as the 'Meadow of Flowers,' is now covered in a pristine blanket of snow, attracting tourists from all over the country. Located in the Baramulla district and nestled in the Pir Panjal Range, Gulmarg's transformation signals the beginning of the enchanting winter season in the valley.
