Delhi air quality dips into 'poor' category
Delhi's air quality has taken a turn for the worse, slipping into the 'poor' category after a 124-day stretch of relatively clean air. According to the Air Quality Early Warning System, the Air Quality Index (AQI) has climbed to 200, marking the end of the city's longest period of clean air in over a decade. Pollution levels have been on the rise across the city, with several monitoring stations reporting alarming figures. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 374, categorized as 'Very Poor,' while Wazirpur and Bawana reported 261 and 259, respectively. The concentration of PM2.5 particles, the most harmful pollutant, has reached 103 µg/m³, nearly seven times higher than the World Health Organization’s safe limit.
