Torrential rains have triggered massive landslides in Darjeeling and Mirik, resulting in a devastating natural disaster. At least 20 people have died, including several children, and dozens more were injured after incessant heavy rain caused landslides and flash floods across the Mirik and Darjeeling hills in North Bengal on Sunday. The deluge, with over 300 mm of rainfall within 12 hours, swept away homes, snapped vital road links, and left hundreds of tourists stranded amid widespread destruction.
