The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for several southern states, warning of intense rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential flooding expected to persist through October 18, 2025. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are expected to experience heavy to very heavy showers, accompanied by lightning, strong winds, and localised flooding.
