Tropical Storm Bertha is bringing tropical-storm-force winds extending up to 105 miles from its center. The storm surge is expected to reach 2-4 feet above normal from the mouth of the Mississippi River to the Mississippi-Alabama border, and 1-3 feet in other areas along the Gulf Coast. Rainfall of 1-4 inches, with isolated areas receiving up to 6 inches, is forecast from western Florida to southern Texas, potentially causing localized flooding. Coastal areas may also experience life-threatening surf and rip currents.
